Washington, D.C. – The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants awarded:
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development:
· $429,403 Indian Housing Block Grant Program awarded to the Native Village of Point Hope. These funds can be used for a variety of eligible affordable housing activities, including operating assistance, development of affordable housing that may include new construction, acquisition, modernization, or rehabilitation of rental or owner-occupied housing; housing services, housing management for low-income housing; and crime prevention safety or model activities.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services:
· $3,113,265 grant to the Rural Alaska Community Action Program, Inc. for Head Start/Early Head Start projects.
· $284,412 grant to the University of Alaska Anchorage for Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry research.
· $154,881 grant to the Eastern Aleutian Tribes, Inc. for Health Center Cluster.
· $65,357 grant to the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services for building data capacity in Alaska.
