In an unfortunate incident on Friday, elderly Marshall couple, Frank and Angelina Coffee, lost their lives as they were launching their boat into the Yukon River.

80-year-old Frank Coffee was behind the wheel, launching his boat, when his vehicle “suddenly went into the river,” troopers reported in the trooper dispatch. Troopers stated that “the riverbank at that area was very steep.”

According to the report, “the bodies were recovered when a male dove into the water and pulled them out.”

Although CPR was immediately administered, at the scene as well as at the Marshall clinic, efforts proved unsuccessful, and both Frank and his 76-year-old wife, Angelina, were pronounced dead at 5:59 pm.

Troopers report that the couple’s remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.
