Eluding DUI Rolls in Wasilla

DUI_Patrol_02At 4:33 am on Tuesday morning, Wasilla-based Alaska State Troopers attempted to pull over a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander after receiving a REDDI report on the vehicle. Instead of stopping, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.

The high speed chase continued for the next two miles, until the fleeing vehicle failed to negotiate a turn and ran through a stand of trees in a resident’s front yard and continued on striking a well casing and rolling.

Troopers contacted the driver and identified him as 31-year-old Wasilla resident Joseph Jackson. Troopers found that Jackson was driving a stolen vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The officers also found that Jackson was on probation for Felony DUI and Criminal Mischief.

Jackson was arrested for Felony DUI, Felony Eluding, Vehicle Theft I, Driving with License Revoked and probation violation.

He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with his bail set at $7,500 and a Court-Approved Third Party.
