Alaska State Troopers are seeking information in a vehicle theft of a 1996 Toyota Camry that was stolen and recovered on Tuesday in Fairbanks and are urging anyone with information to contact them at the Fairbanks post.
Troopers recovered the stolen vehicle after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on property on Miller Hill Road at 4 pm on Tuesday.
When they arrived on-scene at that location, troopers reported seeing a person wearing a black beanie and hoodie on the property. But, when they announced themselves, the trooper dispatch reports, that person walked away into the woods.
Further investigation of the vehicle found that it had been reported stolen earlier in another area of Fairbanks on Tuesday.
When the registered owner of the vehicle was contacted, troopers were given permission to impound the Camry.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
