Alaska State Troopers arrested and jailed a Fairbanks woman after a short chase into the woods following a vehicle collision without bail on Monday.
AST responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Farmer’s Loop Road and Auburn Road at 5:49 pm on Monday. When they responded to the scene, they found that on of the drivers involved had fled into the woods prior to their arrival.
After a short search, 30-year-old Fairbanks resident, Ashley Sommer was apprehended. The investigation would find that Sommer had been driving under the influence when the accident occurred. Further investigation would find that Sommer was driving on a revoked license and was on conditions of release with stipulations that she not drive without a valid license or consume alcohol.
Sommer was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where she was remanded without bail.
