An NTSB investigator is traveling to the scene of a fatal Sunday aircraft crash on Monday the trooper dispatch reports.
Troopers report that a Cessna U206G Stationair crashed after its landing gear struck a tree in Trapper Creek when the pilot, 54-year-old Michael Zagula, was overflying his daughter’s wedding reception at approximately 7 pm on Sunday evening.
Troopers and other responders traveled into the area near Kula Road, Zagula was deceased at the scene.
RCC, the NTSB and FAA were notified of the incident, as was the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage. The SME’s office took possession of Zagula’s remains for autopsy.
Zagula’s family was present at the scene and were given proper notification.
