On Wednesday night, a call went in to the Soldotna dispatch from the Providence hospital in Seward reporting that they had a patient at their emergency room that had had his finger bitten off.
Troopers responded and investigated the incident. Their investigation found that the victim, un-named, and another, identified as 45-year-old Clark Lane, of Seward, were “hanging out on a sand bar in the Seward area,” when the two got into a fight. During the fight, Lane bit off the victim’s finger to the first joint.
As a result of the altercation, and the ensuing investigation, Lane was arrested and charged with Assault I. He was transported to the Seward Jail where he was remanded.
