On Sunday, once at 11:10 am and again at 3:48 pm, Alaska State Troopers received calls of theft from vehicles in the Girdwood area.
In the initial call, the callers reported that their vehicles, parked at their residence at Crow Creek Road, had been entered and items stolen from inside. The Trooper investigation determined that the vehicles had been ransacked between 2 am on Sunday morning and 11 am.The total value of the items stolen from the two vehicles was estimated at $1,972.
The second call reporting theft from a parked vehicle at a parking lot at a Powder Drive residence came in on Sunday afternoon, reporting that the caller’s vehicle had been entered and troopers were informed that sometime between 9 pm on Saturday night and 2 pm on Sunday, items valued at $540 were taken.
Although the three vehicles were separated by over a mile in the main Girdwood area, troopers report that all three vehicles that had items stolen from them, had been left unlocked by the owners.
