A report of an assault went in to the Alaska State Troopers that took place in Grayling at 4 am on Sunday.
When troopers responded to the scene in Grayling, they found that 43-year-old Timothy Deacon of Grayling had assaulted a family member. Deacon had left the scene before the arrival of the troopers.

Troopers would discover that Deacon had stolen a boat abd used it to travel to Anvik. A short while after traveling to Anvik, Deacon left to return to Grayling.
According to reports, Deaon ran out of gas on his return trip to Grayling. He beached the skiff along the shore to the south of Grayling and continued walking toward the village.
Troopers would find Deacon sleeping on the Yukon River beach near the Grayling airport.
When troopers woke Deacon, their investigation would find that he was intoxicated and had been operating tthe skiff in that condition.
Deacon became combative and tried to fight with the troopers when they attempted to detain him.
Troopers arrested Deacon with Theft II, Felony DUI, Assault IV DV, Assault IV and Resisting Arrest. He was transported to Aniak where he was placed into the Alaska State Trooper temporary holding cell before being transferred to the Bethel Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
