burglary investigationTroopers report that they have two in custody and two remain unaccounted for after a large burglary investigation and execution of search warrants on April 11th.

Troopers have arrested 35-year-old Timothy Taylor and 31-year-old Linda Friend, both ofWasilla after search warrants were carried out at a residence and storage unit in Wasilla. They report in the trooper dispatch that they recovered several hundred stolen items that included, “35 stolen firearms, rare paintings, sporting equipment, tools, family heirlooms, and personal documents.” The documents recovered were “passports, photo ID’s, U.S. Postal mail, birth certifi
cates, bank/credit cards, Tax/IRS Information.”

The search warrant executed by Alaska State Troopers with the Criminal Suppression Unit solved at least six recent burglaries, authorities say.

In addition to the items recovered from the scene, troopers would find that the burglars had also been stealing mail from mailboxes. As a result of that discovery, the U.S. Postal Service was notified, and in turn, inspectors notified those affected by the thefts.

The investigation would find that the burglary ring had stolen more than $20,000 worth of items. One victim had several checks stolen, forged, and cashed by Taylor. One of Taylor’s victims was a previous customer of “Harding Ranch Meats,” where Taylor was employed.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of the remaining two suspects in the multi-jurisdictional case involving Alaska State Troopers, Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Wasilla Police Department and the U.S. Postal Service.
