ANCHORAGE, AK- The deadline for Alaskans to be enrolled into a health insurance plan in order to have coverage on January 1, 2014 is quickly approaching. Alaskans have until Monday, December 23, 2013 to get enrolled and have coverage starting on the first of the year. After this date, individuals will have to be enrolled by the 15th of the month in order for the coverage to start on the first of the following month.

The last day of open enrollment is March 31st, 2014. Alaskans have until that date to get enrolled into health insurance to avoid a tax penalty.
