The City of Holy Cross reported a burglary that had taken place in their office in the community of approximately 227 Saturday before last.
After troopers responded to the scene and carried out an investigation of the burglary and theft of pull-tabs and cash, they identified a suspect in the crime.
Last Monday, troopers reported today, they made an arrest in connection with the burglary/theft. Arrested was 24-year-old Holy Cross resident Andrew S. Demientieff.
After his arrest, Demientieff was transported to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel, where he was arrested on charges of Burglary II, Criminal Mischief III, Theft II, and Violating his Conditions of Release on a prior Felony charge.
On Tuesday, Demientieff was arraigned on the charges and appointed a Public Defender. Hiss next court appearance is on October 24th.
