Alaska State Troopers responded to a call on Museum Drive to find the homeowner holding two persons at gunpoint on Wednesday night.
When troopers arrived at the scene at 11:35 pm, they found that 18-year-old Colton Renfro and 20-year-old Jessica Copeland had trespassed onto the homeowners property to steal auto parts that were stored on the property.
But, the homeowner arrived home and interrupted their theft, holding them at gunpoint until troopers could get to the scene.
Troopers placed the two would be purloiners under arrest.
Renfro was charged with Criminal Trespass I, Theft III. Then after further investigation, Renfro was found to be driving on a suspended license and possessed a set of brass knuckles and so was charged with Driving with a Suspended License and Misconduct Involving Weapons IV.
Copeland was charged with Criminal Trespass I and Theft III. After she was found to be in possession of marijuana, she was also charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI.
Both Copeland and Renfro were transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where they were remanded. Renfro was held without bail and Copeland had her bail set at $250.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected in the case.
