After a REDDI call went in to the Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point reporting a vehicle drriving erratically and crossing the center line on Wednesday evening, troopers responded to the Sterling Highway at North Fork Road.
When they arrived at the location, they observed the vehicle and activated their lights and siren in an attempt to pull the vehicle over. But, the vehicle kept traveling on the Sterling Highway before finally coming to a stop near Agusta Lane.
The driver was contacted after the stop and identified as 39-year-old Homer resident Angela Gonzales. Gonzales was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. An investigation of Gonzales would find that she had multiple DUIs in the past ten years, including a prior Felony DUI, and so was arrested for Felony DUI as well as Eluding.
It was also found that Gonzales had a suspended drivers license out of Idaho and so was charged with DWLS.
Gonzales would later refuse a chemical test as so was charged with that offense also.
Gonzales was transported to the Homer Jail where she was remanded on the charges.
She is due to be arraigned in Homer Court on Thursday afternoon.
