At 6:56 pm on Thursday, an Alaska State Troopers pulled over a Subaru Legacy Station Wagon on North Fork Road near Anchor Point after it was seen crossing over the center line.
When troopers contacted the driver, identified as 43-year-old Shannon M. Alman, she was found to be operating her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
S. Alman told troopers that she was following her husband, who was ahead of her in another vehicle. During the investigation on North Fork Road, S. Alman’s husband came to the scene on foot from his vehicle, a white Chevy Tahoe. When talking to 51-year-old Peter Alman, it was found that he too had been operating his vehicle under the influence.
It was also found that S. Alman had a juvenile in the vehicle with her at the time, she was subsequently charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child I. Both Shannon and Peter were charged with DUIs.
Both Almans were transported to the Homer Jail on charges. Later, S. Alman would refuse to take a chemical test, and so was charged with Refusal of a Chemical Test as well.
Both were held without bail pending arraignment.
