It was reported on Saturday to the Hydaburg Alaska State Troopers that a young boy had been shot in the head with a BB gun

At 12:25 pm,Troopers responded to the report and their investigation found that the 7-year-old boy had been shot by another 7-year-old near the school in Hydaburg. The Young boy with the BB gun had been shooting near the school and had recklessly shot the other boy in the head.

The young victim was transported to the medical clinic where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The Office of Juvenile Justice was advised of the incident and a report will be forwarded to their office for review.

Names of the two children were withheld.

Hydaburg is located on Prince of Wales Island just to the west of Ketchikan and has a population of approximately 380 people.
