Troopers were called in to an incident occurring at a residence in Delta Junction during the early morning hours of Sunday for a woman with a firearm.
The caller reported that 32-year-old Lisa McClanahan was intoxicated at the residence along the Richardson Highway, and that when she was asked to leave produced a 9mm handgun and was pointing it at people in the house, including the homeowner.
According to the report, McClanahan pointed the weapon first at one person, then at the homeowner. When she pointed the weapon at the homeowner, she pulled the trigger, but the weapon failed to discharge. The weapon, although loaded, did not a have a round in the chamber.
When troopers arrived a short time later, they conducted an investigation that resulted in McClanahan being arrested on charges of Assault III and Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV.
McClanahan was arraigned on the charges later Sunday and appointed a Public Defender. She has her next court appointment on July 9th.
