During the early morning hours of Sunday, Alaska State troopers in Ketchikan responded to a call reporting a disturbance involving a firearm on the N. Tongass Hwy.
Troopers arrived at the scene at 2:20 AM early Sunday morning. Their investigation into the incident revealed that 48-year-old Ketchikan resident Michael D Ramsey had assaulted another 37-year-old man at the residence near mile 8.4 on the North Tongass.as the troopers continued investigation at the scene they would find that Ramsey had pointed a handgun at the other man during the altercation and had placed the man in fear.
As the investigation continued, troopers would find that Ramsey was also impaired by alcohol while he was handling that firearm. Press enter Ramsey was arrested without incident and transported to the Ketchikan correctional Center where he was remanded on charges of Assault III, and Misconduct Involving Weapons IV.
Ramsey was held there without bail.
