The Alutiiq Museum, Sun’aq Tribe of Kodiak, Native Village of Afognak, and KIBSD are hosting an Alutiiq Week session in Kodiak during Spring Break, March 16-20, 2015. We’re seeking interest from Alutiiq artists and culture-bearers to lead or support a cultural activity. We encourage proposals for a wide range of potential experiences that would benefit students and their families. Candidates should possess the following:
- Ability and knowledge to demonstrate an Alutiiq art or cultural activity area,
- Interest or experience in teaching youth and community members,
- Willingness to follow the museum’s code of conduct while participating.
Application Process:
- Please outline the activity you propose to lead and how it teaches an aspect of Alutiiq culture.
- Include a list of materials needed for the proposed activity.
- Indicate target age ranges and head count limits for the proposed activity.
- Contact information for two (2) references – people who can speak to your abilities.
