A Kwethluk man had charges add after his arrest when he attempted to escape custody on Saturday.

Trooper dispatch reported on Wednesday that 23-year-old Kwethluk man, Marvin Nicori, attempted to make break for it after being arrested and remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.

When Nicori arrived at the Correctional Center, he fled on foot, but after a brief foot-chase, he was re-captured and returned to the center.

Nicori had been arrested on several misdemeanors and was also pending arraignment on felony petition to revoke probation. 

As a result of his bid for escape, Nicori was also charged with Escape II as well as his original charges.
