A call went in to the Alaska State Troopers on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 2:05 pm reporting that a man had fallen into the Klutina River an hour earlier. The man was reported to be approximately 40 years of age, weighed about 180 pounds and was wearing tan chest waders and a vest at the time of the incident.
Helo-2, which was in the area on a different search and rescue mission, diverted to the Klutina and Copper Rivers to assist. Their search turned up no evidence of the man in distress.

A local river charter 7 miles downstream from where the man reportedly fell into the water was contacted. The boat captain there indicated that they had not seen anyone in the waters of the Klutina.
The Alaska State Troopers checked with all the campgrounds and lodges in the area. None of those contacted were missing any guests and all were accounted for.
The troopers would also check all the parking lots in the area for unattended vehicles, but nothing was uncovered and the troopers reported negative results.
The Alaska State Troopers are seeking information from the public in regards to the identity of the missing fisherman. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact them.
