Man Suffers Multiple Gunshot Wounds During Wasilla Home Invasion

The Alaska State Trooper’s Bureau of Investigation is continuing its investigation into a home invasion shooting incident that was reported on Monday evening.

Troopers responded to the scene at an apartment building near the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Trunk Road at 6:50 pm on Monday after receiving a report of a shooting that occurred  during a home invasion there.

When they arrived, they found that a man occupant at the residence has suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the incident. The gunshot victim was transported by ambulance to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

The trooper investigation would reveal that two men entered the apartment and threatened the occupants and one of the occupants was shot several times.

It was reported by dispatch that the injured man “fired a gun at the assailants before they fled.” It is unknown if either of the assailants were hit by the gunfire.
