Marysville High School Gunman Identified

15-year-old Jaylen Fryberg, the student identified by Snohomish officials as the shooter at the marysville High School , died by his own hand via a gunshot wound to the head, it was reported on Monday. It is unknown at this time if the shot that killed him was intentional or if the weapon discharged as he struggled with a teacher during the incident, but eyewitness accounts say that the teacher, Megan Silberger, confronted Fryberg and grabbed him by the arm just before the weapon was discharged taking Fryberg’s life.

The shooting at the school on Friday left one dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head, that person was identified as 14-year-old Zoe Galasso. Another of the students, Gia Soriano, age 14, died at the hospital on Sunday  from wounds received on Friday.

Another of the students, Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, age 14, remains in critical condition today, while 14-year-old Nate Hatch, who was shot in the jaw, has been upgraded to “satisfactory” today.

Another of the students, Andrew Fryberg, age 15 remains in critical care.

Jaylen walked into the cafeteria just after 10 on Friday with a weapon, walked up to a table where his cousins and close friends were sitting and opened fire. The call reporting the shooting was called in to 911 at 10:39 am.

It is unknown what sparked the shooting incident.
