Alaska State Troopers report that as of today, the missing kayaker that overturned on Eklutna Lake is still missing despite efforts to recover his remains.
Troopers identified the man as 20-year-old Texas resident Robert Brown who, they report was on active duty as an airman in the Air Force and was stationed at JBER.
He was reported missing on Monday early evening. It was reported that he capsized near the Municipal water intake. Because of the strong currents in that area, the Anchorage Fire Department chose not to deploy divers, citing safety risks.
Troopers flew the area again today in an effort to locate Brown’s remains.
Brown’s next of kin have been notified.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
