There were no injuries reported in a multi-vehicle collision involving a moose on Monday late afternoon troopers reported on Tuesday.
Troopers received a report of a moose collision and a vehicle at 5:53 pm on Monday. Troopers traveled to the scene to investigate the incident. But, before they could arrive at the scene, two more vehicles suffered collisions at the same location.
When troopers arrived at the scene and carried out their investigation, they determined that as 52-year-old Theresa Ann Holman was traveling at mile 105 of the Sterling Highway, she impacted a moose that had run in front of her silver 2013 Honda car.
As Holman was awaiting the arrival of troopers, two more vehicles approached the scene. In front, was 55-year-old Francis Ellen Martin of Soldotna, in a red 1994 Dodge pickup. Behind her, was 25-year-old Olivia Sue Powell in another vehicle.
As Martin reached the location, she took evasive action to avoid the stricken moose. Powell did likewise, but, in the process struck Martin’s vehicle in front of her.
All operators reported wearing their seatbelts.
Holman’s and Powell’s vehicles suffered minor damage troopers reported. Martin’s vehicle suffered substantial damage, was disabled and had to be towed from the scene.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
