A 29-year-old Newhalen man was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery II, two counts of Asssault III and two counts of Theft III after a report was made by a Newhalen juvenile on Thursday.
It was reported that on Wednesday of last week, Peter Rychnovsky went to a residence in Newhalen and confronted the juvenile about stolen alcohol. During the confrontation, according to the trooper dispatch, Rychnovsky assaulted the juvenile demanded property from him. The minor complied, giving the suspect some of his belongings. It was then that Rychnovsky again assaulted the juvenile demanding everything he had. The juvenile gave Rychnovsky his iPod, headphones and backpack.
An adult male also at the residence was also coerced into giving his property up after being assaulted. That victim gave up his iPhone. After giving up his phone, that man was again assaulted according to the trooper dispatch.
Although the adult victim declined medical treatment, the juvenile was assisted in receiving medical care.
Rychnovsky arrested on charges and transported to the Bristol Bay Borough Detention Facility where he was held without bail.
The property of the juvenile and the adult male was recovered.
