Troopers responded to a vehicle accident on North Fork Road near Anchor Point late on Friday evening. When the Bureau of Highway Patrol-Kenai Division arrived at the scene, they found that the driver of a 1995 Toyota truck, 59-year-old Ivola Usoltseff, had sustained serious injuries.
Usoltseff was transported to the South Peninsula Hospital by EMS for treatment of injuries. But, Usoltseff did not make it and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The trooper investigation at the scene of the accident revealed that Usoltseff, the only occupant of the vehicle, was traveling eastbound on the road when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the road and into the ditch. WHen he did so the vehicle rolled coming to rest on it’s side. Usoltseff was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Troopers believe alcohol played a factor in the accident.
The investigation into the accident is continuing.
Next of kin was notified.
