South Korea is reporting that North Korea fired off several short-range projectiles into the sea off of the east coast of North Korea on Monday. Officials in South Korea did not specify what type of projectiles they were however.

Other sources say that the projectiles were short-range missiles and say a total of five were fired from the eastern coastal city of Hamhung and landed approximately 120 miles off-shore.

This latest firing of North Korea’s arsenals comes a week after North Korea fired off two medium-range missiles into the sea in reaction to u.s./SouthKorean joint military exercises taking place to their south and in defiance of U.N. sanctions.

North Korea is reporting that they are currently testing a re-entry vehicle that will be used for returning a nuclear device into the atmosphere from space. Last week’s launch may have been a test of that technology.

Of late, North Korea has been threatening to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strikes against Washington DC and the South Koreancapital of Seoul.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
