Investigators with NTSB reached the plane, a Cessna 207, Monday afternoon, and found it submerged in the river with only pieces sticking out of the river. They reported that the aircraft heavily damaged. They are currently attempting to revover as much of it as they can before the river washes it away.
NTSB still has not been able to examine the plane.
The FAA still lists the aircraft, tail number N1653U, as “crashed under unknown circumstances.”
Searchers are still combing the area in an attempt to locate the pilot. His condition is unknown.
