The nation's unemployment rate rose one-tenth of one percent this last month and Romney used the slight bump to criticize the president as the election creeps ever closer.
Saying that the 7.9% unemployment rate for October is “a sad reminder that the economy is at a virtual standstill.” Even after September’s rate of 7.8% dropped the unemployment rate to the lowest numbers since Obama took office in January of 2008, Romney continued to pound away at Obama’s employment record of the last four years.
It will be seen if Obama can buck the trend of no president ever winning a re-election in recent history with an unemployment rate above 7.4%. That trend has been in place since World War II.

Romney is visiting Wisconsin and Ohio today and plans on making stops in New Hampshire, Iowa and Colorado as Tuesday’s vote inches ever closer.
President Obama attended rallies in Wisconsin, Nevada, Colorado, and Ohio on Thursday. Obama will spend all day Friday in Ohio, and will continue to visit the state for the next four days until the election.
