Cheri Kuss, the Portage County woman that fled to Homer, Alaska with her companion Robert Davis in the first week of March of this year, pleaded "Guilty" in Portage County court on Monday.
She pleaded out to one count of Illegal Manufacturing of Drugs and one count of Complicity to Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs. Both of the charges are Second Degree Felonies. She faces eight years on each charge as well as a total of $15,000 in fines.
Another 15 counts related to the manufacturing of drugs was dropped as a result of her pleas.
The other person that Kuss fled with last March, Robert Davis, still faces five Felony charges. His trial is set to begin on August 21. Davis’s son, Colton R. Davis, 18, also is charged with complicity to illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and tampering with evidence in connection with the case from December. He is free on bond pending a trial in Enlow’s court on Sept. 18.
Kuss and her companion left Ohio for the state of Alaska after posting bail on the drug charges. Kuss paid 10% of her bail to be released. Kuss’s bail was 10% of $25,000. Davis paid $1,000 to get out of custody.
The two were under suveillance throughout the day in Homer before authorities moved in to take them into custody later that night just before midnight on March 5th.
They were booked into the Homer jail before being extradited back to Ohio.
