One Arrested on SAM Warrant Charges, Another for Hindering in Wasilla

trooperarrestTroopers received information on a 21-year-old man wanted on an $25,000 arrest warrant for failure to appear on charges that included several Sexual Assault and Sexual Assault of a Minor among others. The information was received at 44 minutes past midnight on Thursday morning.

After learning of the whereabouts of Johnnie W. Weber, troopers responded to the residence where Weber was reported to be near mile 12 of the Knik-Goose Bay Road in Wasilla.

When troopers arrived at the residence, another individual  at the residence, 25-year-old Emerson I Thompson, hid Weber away in the home.

Weber was eventually located in the home and arrested on the warrant.

Thompson was also arrested on Hindering Prosecution charges.

Weber’s warrant stemmed from a September 2013 court case where Weber was arrested on charges of Sexual Assault I x2, Sexual Assault II x2, Sexual Abuse of a Minor II x2, Sexual Abuse of a Minor III x2, and Theft III.

Weber made bail on September 15 of 2014 in the amount of $20,000. On October 6th, Weber failed to appear for a pre-trial conference. Prior to that date, Weber had also been charged with Felony drug possession, he bailed out for that offense, but failed to appear for his arraignment on those charges on October 14th.

Both individuals were transported to the Mat Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there. Weber was held on the warrant bail while Thompson was held without bail pending arraignment.
