Alaska State Troopers are conducting an investigation into a crash in Alakanuk that took the life of one and injured another on Saturday.
Emmonak-based troopers were notified of a snowmachine crash in the community of Alakanuk at 9:25 pm on Saturday night. It was reported that 32-year-old Simeon Duny died as a result of the crash. 25-year-old Dan Augline was reported to have suffered injuries.
The troopers from Emmonak responded to the communnity and initiated an investigation into the incident on Sunday.
Augline was transported to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Center for treatment of his injuries. Duny’s remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
