The Pakastani Taliban claimed responsibility for the rocket attack fired toward Peshawar's Bacha Khan International airport yesterday. But claimed that the three rockets fired were intended for the air force base adjacent to the airport.
Two rockets landed inside the airport and the other rocket landedd outside of the area. After firing the rockets, militants attempted to drive a explosive-laden vehicle into the airport but failed. The vehicle struck the outer wall of the airport and five of the militants were killed.

Four civilians were also killed in the Saturday attack and approximately 45 were injured.
On Sunday morning, Pakastani security forces located and fought a pitched gunbattle with the remaining five militants responsible for the attack in a home two miles from the airport. The militants had taken the owner of the unfinished home as a hostage and had taken refuge in the two buildings according to the Police Chief of Peshawar, Imtiaz Altaf. As gunfire broke out at the residence, three of the militants were killed and the other two detonated explosive vests. The militants were heavily armed with weapons, grenades and explosive vests.
One police officer was killed in Sundays attack and another four were wounded.
