Anchorage police are looking for additional information in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Elijah Zeller who died after being dropped off at a Anchorage hospital on July 30 of this year.
“We know that sometimes people are scared to provide information, especially when they might be fearful,” said Case Detective James Trull. “Fortunately we have a system in place where someone can potentially help us solve a murder case and remain completely anonymous throughout the investigation. We cannot successfully solve these cases and get violent criminals off of our streets without the help of our community.”
Police are trying to uncover the location as well as the circumstances that led to Zeller’s shooting, but without the public’s help, they have very little to go on.
During the investigation into Zeller’s death, police found evidence of a shooting that had taken place near a large party on the 5000 block of Cape Seville Drive the same morning that Zeller was shot. Police say that “It is possible there were other shootings that occurred elsewhere in Anchorage following the shooting event on Cape Seville Drive.”
Police estimate that at least 100 people attended the large party at the Cape Seville Drive location and they are asking people that attended that party to come forward with any information they have. Persons with information are urged to contact police and ask to talk to a homicide detective.
