Soldotna police made contact with a parked 2005 Ford F-150 on Creekside Avenue at 1:03 am on Friday. When 27-year-old Joshua Roberts refused obey a command to exit the vehicle, troopers also responded to the scene to assist.

Instead of complying, Roberts drove his pickup truck forward at a high rate of speed about 45-feet into the rear of the trooper K-9 vehicle and into the front of a Soldotna Patrol car. Roberts had a 21-year-old passenger in the vehicle with him at the time.

Still refusing to exit the vehicle, Roberts had to be forcefully extricated from the truck by Soldotna Police and Trooper. Roberts was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility, where he was remanded into custody.

Roberts was charged with DUI, Assault III x4, Disorderly Conduct x4, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief x2, Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer, Misconduct Involving Weapons III x2, Misconduct Involving Weapons V, Harming a Police Dog II, Hindering Prosecution, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV x2.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
