The search for the man reported missing on August 2oth has now been discontinued after a five day search.
On last Monday August 20th, 33-year-old Paul Tinker was reported missing when he didn’t return from his boating trip. He was last seen the night before at about 11:30 pm. He was last seen in his 21 foot Carolina skiff heading up the Yukon River. His destination was unknown.
Tinker’s skiff was located by searchers about a quarter-mile downriver from the community of Marshall.

Three boats were immediately sent out to search for Tinker, as was an Alaska Wildlife Trooper aircraft.
The next day Tuesday the 21st of August, a large-scale search effort was initiated. As many as nineteen boats took part in the search. These boats searched from Russian Mission downriver to Saint Marys.
By the 22nd, recovery operations began in the Tinker search. Two specialized SONAR systems were brought in and utilized. Fish finders and drag equipment were also used to attempt to discover and recover Tinker’s remains.
The operation continued until the 25th, and still unsuccessful was called off that day.
Next of kin have been notified and Tinker has been listed as a misisng person.
