Trooper say that the search for a Wrangell man last seen during the early morning hours of December 13th, has been suspended until such at time that more leads are revealed.
The search for 38-year-old Wrangell resident, Brandon Peterson, was initiated following a request for a welfare check on him on December 17th. He had last been seen at a remote cabin at Tom’s Place by members of the Wrangell Fire Department 20 miles south of Wrangell. Intoxicated, Peterson refused assistance by fire department members early that morning at 1 am.
The initial search, conducted on December 17th, utilized Wrangell Fire Department Search and Rescue dog and focused on the Forest Service Road around the entrance leading to Peterson’s cabin.
The following day, again with the use of a SAR dog, a grid search was conducted, again without success. Successive searches from that day until Christmas Eve using a SAR dog as well as ATVs and boats came up empty-handed.
Peterson’s next of kin have been apprised of the latest decision to suspend the search.
Troopers are asking that anyone with information of Peterson’s whereabouts to contact local authorities or trooper posts.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
