The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) Behavioral Health Division announced the hiring of Pyper M. Powell, LPC, as a behavioral health clinician for the Juneau Behavioral Health Clinic.
“We here at SEARHC are very excited about the addition of Pyper Powel to our behavioral health clinic staff.” SEARHC Juneau Behavioral Health Clinic Manager Scott Heaton, LMFT, said. “Pyper is a Licensed Professional Counselor who comes to us with a wealth of experience gained working in Washington state, Metlakatla and most recently at the Juneau Alliance for Mental Health Inc. Pyper is very passionate about the work she does and will no doubt be a great fit in our organization and a valuable addition to our clinical team.”
Pyper holds a Master of Science degree in mental health counseling from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in kinesiology from the University of Northern Colorado, and she took undergraduate courses in communications and theater from Lake Forest College in Illinois. Pyper’s medical interests include crisis stabilization, cultural competence, respect and incorporation of spiritual practice in therapy, and trauma-informed care. She enjoys spending time in nature with her husband and daughter, kayaking, hiking and berry-picking.
“I look forward to connecting and growing with the Juneau Behavioral Health Team, the larger SEARHC family, and all the people we see in Southeast Alaska,” Pyper said. “Thank you for the opportunity and warm welcome.”
