Suffering from what is a stomach virus according to Deputy Assistant Secretary Philippe Reines, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton fainted and fell, suffering a concussion.
“She has been recovering at home and will continue to be monitored regularly by her doctors. At their recommendation, she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with department and other officials. She is looking forward to being back in the office soon.”
According to her office, the Secretary has cancelled her scheduled trip to the Middle East because of this mishap.
She was also scheduled to testify in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in connection to the Benghazi Consulate killings earlier this year. After hearing the news of her illness and mishap, Chairman of the committee, John Kerry the Democrat Senator from Massachusetts, insisted tha Secretary Clinton not keep that appointment, this according to Jody Seth, spokesperson for the Chairman.

“Senator Kerry was relieved to hear that the secretary is on the mend, but he insisted that given her condition, she could not and should not appear on Thursday as previously planned, and that the nation’s best interests are served by the report and hearings proceeding as scheduled with senior officials appearing in her place,” Seth said.
Secretary Clinton, who had earlier announced that she will not serve as Secretary of State during the second term of Obama’s presidency, will be replaced by John Kerry according to anonymous sources in Washington. It is said that President Obama tapped Kerry after Susan Rice, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations withdrew her name from consideration. The announcement of the Presidents nomination could be in the offing as soon as this week. That may be delayed however because of the gravity of the shootings in Newton this last week.
