On Saturday, a motor vehicle accident was reported to the Alaska State troopers, reporting an accident between a school bus and another vehicle near mile six of the Seward Highway in Seward.
According to reports, a vehicle operated by 29-year-old Seward resident Brandon Mason cross the centerline of the highway and narrowly missed a head-on collision with a school bus carrying 26 passengers. Mason avoided head-on collision but sideswiped the bus. No injuries were reported in the accident.
After the incident Mason attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was located in health by witnesses to the incident until Alaska state troopers to arrive at the scene.
The trooper investigation that followed found that Mason was impaired by alcohol and so was arrested for Driving under the Influence. Mason was also charged with leaving the scene of a Property Damage Accident and Reckless Endangerment.
Mason was transported to the sewer jail where he was remanded.
