Seward Man Jailed on Double Counts of Murder

 

Alaska State Troopers report that they have taken a Seward man into custody and have charged him with twin counts of Murder I for a Monday incident.

According to troopers, a call went in to the trooper’s Soldotna Public Safety Communications Center reporting a shooting incident in the Seward area at 6:06 pm.

When troopers arrived at the scene they found two men, 28-year-old Dustin Marx and 40-year-old Michael White, both of Seward, had been shot and killed.

An investigation into the fatal incident was opened and found that 30-year-old Joseph Chandler, also of Seward, had gotten into an altercation with the two men and the fight ended with the two men being shot and killed.

Chandler was placed under arrest and transported to the Seward Jail where he was remanded on two counts of Murder I. He was held without bail.
