The Alaska State Troopers took part in an hours-long negotiation with a Soldotna woman who had locked herself into a vehicle after an incident in Kasilof on Wednesday morning.
Troopers responded to the Kasilof area at 7:58 am on Wednesday in connection with a disturbance there. The caller reported the person that was involved in the disturbance was 40-year-old Soldotna woman Angela M. Glaves.
When troopers arrived at the scene and conducted their investigation, they found that Glaves had allegedly been in a disturbance at the residence there. After leaving the residence, Glaves got into a gold in color, 1999 Ford Expedition, and attempted to run her vehicle head-on into another vehicle with two people inside. Her attempt forced the other vehicle to leave the road and drive into the ditch, the trooper dispatch reported.
When Glaves was contacted by troopers, she locked herself into her vehicle and refused demands to come out. Troopers worked for several hours to get Glaves to exit the vehicle. All demands were met with negative results. The troopers would eventually break out the driver-side window and extract Glaves from the Expedition. Glaves was taken into custody without further incident.
Glaves was transported to Kenai where she was remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility, with no bail, on two counts of Assault III and one count of Reckless Driving.
