The Alaska State Trooper Dispatch revealed today that on Monday, May 20th, troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle on the Seward Highway before being led on a hi-speed chase.
It was at 12:55 pm on Monday that a Bureau of Highway Patrol trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2011 BMW Sedan as it sped through mile 50 of the Seward Highway.
The vehicle, driven by the person now identified as 23-year-old Anchorage resident Colin Krieger, did not heed to the trooper and continued along the Seward Highway passing several vehicles as he did so.

Troopers were finally able to stop the vehicle and its occupant at mile 39 of the highway.
He was charged with Felony Eluding and Reckless driving and transported to the Seward Jail and remanded there with no bail status.
Although Krieger has approximately 50 court cases on his record, most of the cases are minor vehicle violations. It is unknown why Krieger would have eluded the officers and subjected himself to Felony charges.
Krieger appeared in court on Tuesday and was fined $300 for speeding. He was also arraigned on Felony Eluding and Reckless Driving charges and appears in court again on May 31 for a pre-indictment hearing.
State Troopers are requesting that any motorist who observed the BMW Sedan speeding along the Seward Highway on Monday to contact them at 262-4453.
