Three Wasilla men have been arrested on Kidnapping charges after an early morning incident on Wednesday, troopers say.
Troopers report that they were made aware of a possible assault at a Jasper Drive residence in Wasilla by the Anchorage Police Department at 4:30 am on Wednesday.
An investigation was opened and it was found that the adult male victim had been assaulted at the Jasper Drive residence by 19-year-old Damian Peterson 18-year-old Austin Barrett and a 17-year-old male, then forced to lead the three to his Eagle River home over 30 miles distant. Once there, the trio attempted to rob the man of his money.
The victim was able to subdue Peterson during the robbery attempt. The other two men fled the scene prior to the arrival of Anchorage police. It would be quickly determined that Peterson was wanted on a Failure to Appear warrant for the original charge of DWLR. He was charged with that warrant as well as Robbery I, Kidnapping, and Assault II.
The other two men would be later apprehended at the Jasper Drive address. Both Barrett and the 17-year-old, who is being waived into adulthood, were charged with Kidnapping.
All three were remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer and held without bail.
