The Alaska Native News has now come to the conclusion of two years of service to Alaska. We are just beginning what we hope to be a long relationship with Alaskan readers.
From what started as a one-article-a-day blog has grown into a general online newspaper in two short years. It has had its growing pains but has had good moments as well. The publication now posts at least 60 articles a week, and sometimes more, depending on the news in the world. The newspaper began on a shoestring, and at no time has had financial support from any outside interests.
We have worked to keep the doors open and the lights on as the two years have passed. But, we understood that it would be this way for a short time. We understood that every enterprise has its growing pains as it becomes a viable concern.
Through the last two years, we have had minimal advertising revenue for our site. We have depended on Google Adsense as well as Google Affiliates to populate our newspaper with ads. While this method may work for some, for others it does not quite fit the bill.
Now that our first two years are over, we hope to attract Alaskan Advertisers who will work with us to bring pertinent ads to our Alaskan readers.
The Alaska Native News has also teamed up with the Village Trading Post in order to generate additional revenue. A portion of each and every dollar generated by the Village Trading Post will be put to paying the Alaska Native News expenses as we work to develop working relationships with advertisers.
The Village Trading Post is currently highlighting pit-fired masks on its site. These masks make a very nice addition to any wall, whether that be an office, living room, or any room. The pit-fired lamp rocks sold on the site nake an excellent addition to any mantle, desk or table.
The art on the Village Trading Post comes just in time for early shoppers for the upcoming Christmas season.
More items will be added to the Village Trading Post site as time progresses. But, we are sure that the pit-fired masks and lamprocks won’t be around for long.
The Village Trading Post site can be accessed through the Alaska Native News newspaper through any of the pages on the site. The ad appears to the right on each page. Do the Village Trading Post as well as the Alaska Native News a favor and take a look for yourself, perhaps you will find a gift for someone in your life, or perhaps even yourself.
Thank You very much for your time. The Alaska Native News hopes that you will continue to access our newspaper for your news, reading and entertainment needs.
