ALASKA-The new Sarah Palin Poll released yesterday shows that people that know Sarah Palin the best like her the least. The Ivan Moore Poll taken in mid-June shows that 49% registered voters in Alaska have a "very" or "somewhat" negative opinion of her, this is compared to the 39% that have a positive opinion of the former governor.

The 39% favorable rating she received is down slightly as people that once liked her are now ho-hum about the woman. The negative numbers represent a rather stable level but shows more people unsure about their feelings about her, that number has risen to 12%.

When asked why they held Palin in such low regard, Alaskan voters referred to her leaving her post as governor before her term was up, the second highest response was that she lacked knowledge or intellectual depth.

The numbers for this newest poll show better numbers did the Dittman polls in the past, where she fared poorly with an only 36% approval rating. The polls there were consistently worse for Palin. One should note that Dittman once worked for Palin.

When looked at with a greater view, Palin’s approval ratings before her tap for the vice-presidential seat nomination was a overwhelming 88% among Republican voters. This is a drop of roughly 50%.

Moore surveyed 647 registered voters. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.8 percentage points.
