On Tuesday, October 29th, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a possible sexual abuse of a minor in the village of Togiak.
According to the trooper dispatch, the troopers conducted an investigation of the complaint and found that a police officer in the community of Togiak had engaged with sexual relations with a 16-year-old girl in that community.
According to the report, 22-year-old Daniel A. Gonzalez had contact with the young girl during his off-duty hours, but was still utilizing a city-owned patrol vehicle. Gonzalez had only been with the Togiak Police for a couple of months before the incident.
After completing their initial investigation, troopers went to Togiak on Friday, November 1, where they contacted Gonzalez and placed him under arrest for Sexual Abuse of a Minor II.
Gonzalez was transported to Dillingham where he was remanded to the Dillingham Correctional Center.
