A late night Parks Highway accident on Monday took the life of a Trapper Creek man just before midnight.
According to the trooper dispatch, a call went in reporting a motor vehicle crash at 11:45 pm on Monday. The accident took place at mile 104 of the Parks Highway involving a tractor-trailer rig and a pick up truck.

Troopers from Talkeetna, Palmer, the South Central Bureau of Highway Patrol and a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer reponded to the accident scene. Their investigation into the fatal accident revealed that 60-year-old Trapper Creek resident David Roach was traveling north-bound when he crossed over the centerline and collided with a Peterbilt Tractor-trailer towing two flatbed trailers. The driver of the semi, 71-year-old Donald Braun attempted to stop his tractor trailer but was unable to and the vehicles collided head on.
Roach was killed on impact.
Braun suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by LifeMed to Anchorage’s Providence Hospital for trreatment of his injuries.
Troopers beleive that alcohol may have played a factor in the incident., The investigation is continueing.
