Troopers Arrest Wasilla Man on Escape Charges after Anonymous Tip

After receiving an anonymous tip on Tuesday morning concerning an an escapee who had warrants for his arrest, troopers responded to the scene to apprehend their man trooper dispatch reports.

On Tuesday at 10:30 am, Alaska State Troopers received a tip that 53-year-old Wasilla resident William Anderson could be located walking near the corner of Vine Road and Hollywood Road. The caller also reminded troopers that  Anderson was the subject of outstanding warrants.

A quick check by the troopers would find that Anderson indeed had active warrants for his arrest on the original charge of escape. The specifics of his escape were not immediately known.

Court records show that Anderson was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Vehicle Crash, Driving without Proof of Insurance and Driving with License Revoked on January 12th of this year. Court records also show that Anderson had been charged with Misdemeanor Escape three days later.

Troopers would travel to the scene and locate Anderson inside a local market near where he was reportedly last seen. He was arrested without incident.

Anderson was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded and his bail set at $2,000.
